Description
Classic strawberry pie with fresh whole strawberries in a glossy homemade glaze inside a flaky baked crust.
Ingredients

- 1 baked 9 inch pie crust
- 5 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Whipped cream for serving, optional
Instructions
- Mash 2 cups strawberries and set aside 3 cups whole.
- Cook sugar, cornstarch, water, and mashed strawberries until thickened.
- Stir in lemon juice and cool slightly.
- Fold in whole strawberries.
- Fill baked crust and chill 4 hours until set.
- Slice and serve with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- Chill fully before slicing.
- Use firm ripe strawberries.
- Store refrigerated.
