Description

A comforting, classic meatloaf made with ground beef and buttery Ritz crackers, baked to tender perfection and topped with a rich ketchup glaze. This family favorite is juicy, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or Sunday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef (80 percent lean)
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, about 32 crackers, crushed finely
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup ketchup, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, crushed Ritz crackers, finely chopped onion, eggs, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape evenly.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep the texture tender.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to retain juices.
  • If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil during baking.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
