Description

Mongolian Beef Stir-Fry with tender thinly sliced beef coated in a rich sweet and savory glossy sauce with green onions.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Toss beef with cornstarch until coated.
  3. Cook beef 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté garlic and ginger briefly until fragrant.
  5. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Return beef to skillet and toss to coat. Add green onions and cook 1 minute.
  7. Serve hot over rice.
