Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease financier molds or a mini loaf pan.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and continue cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, all purpose flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
  4. Add egg whites and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Gradually pour in the browned butter and mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes.
  7. Spoon batter evenly into prepared molds.
  8. Sprinkle sliced almonds lightly on top of each.
  9. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before removing from molds and serving.
