- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease financier molds or a mini loaf pan.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and continue cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, all purpose flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Add egg whites and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Gradually pour in the browned butter and mix until the batter is smooth.
- Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes.
- Spoon batter evenly into prepared molds.
- Sprinkle sliced almonds lightly on top of each.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.
- Allow to cool slightly before removing from molds and serving.
Notes
- Watch the butter carefully while browning to prevent burning.
- Do not overmix to keep the crumb tender.
