Ingredients
Scale
- Ingredients for the Garlic Butter Base:
- 2 French baguettes (about 12 inches each), ends trimmed
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Pinch of salt
- Ingredients for the Cheesy Lobster Filling:
- 8 oz cooked lobster meat (tail and claw), chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp heavy cream or sour cream
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning
- ½ tsp lemon juice
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded
- ½ cup Gruyère or Swiss cheese, freshly shredded
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Ingredients for Garnish:
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prep Oven & Bread Boats: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut a V-shaped trough out of the top of each baguette and gently hollow out the soft bread center to create a deep “boat.”
- Make Garlic Butter & Brush: Mix melted butter, 3 cloves minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt. Brush generously all over the inside and edges of the bread boats. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to crisp up slightly.
- Sauté Garlic & Melt Base: Melt 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add 2 cloves minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Reduce heat to low, add softened cream cheese, heavy cream, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning, stirring until smooth and melted.
- Fold in Lobster & Cheese: Remove skillet from heat. Stir in lemon juice, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Gruyère cheese until melted. Gently fold in the chopped cooked lobster meat until coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stuff & Bake: Divide the cheesy lobster filling evenly between the hollowed garlic bread boats. Top generously with the remaining mozzarella, Gruyère, and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake & Broil: Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling. Broil on high for 1–2 minutes at the end until the top cheese layer turns golden brown.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley or chives and serve immediately warm with lemon wedges on the side!
Notes
- Always pre-crisp the hollowed baguettes for 5 minutes before filling to prevent soggy bread bottoms.
- Keep the skillet on low heat when incorporating dairy products to avoid curdling the filling.
- Fold in the pre-cooked lobster gently off the heat to prevent it from becoming rubbery during the final bake.
- Watch the broiler carefully for 1–2 minutes to avoid burning the cheese topping.
