Description

Cheesy Cheeseburger French Fry Bake transforms your favorite fast food duo into one epic casserole. Crispy crinkle-cut fries buried beneath savory seasoned beef and a blanket of gooey melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Ingredients for the Crisp Fry Base:
  • 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen crinkle-cut or waffle french fries
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Ingredients for the Savory Cheeseburger Layer:
  • 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella or American cheese, shredded
  • Ingredients for Burger Toppings & Drizzle:
  • ⅓ cup dill pickle chips or relish, chopped
  • ¼ cup special burger sauce (or ketchup + mayo twist)
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives or green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Instructions:
  2. Bake Fries Ultra-Crispy: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss frozen fries with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Spread evenly across a large baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until deep golden and extra crisp. (Crispiness is key so they hold the toppings!)
  3. Brown Burger Meat: While fries bake, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion, cooking 6–8 minutes while breaking meat into small crumbles. Stir in minced garlic during the last minute and drain excess fat.
  4. Season Beef: Stir ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and black pepper directly into the cooked beef. Simmer for 2 minutes until glossy and combined.
  5. Assemble Bake: Transfer crispy cooked fries into a 9×13-inch baking dish (or keep on the baking sheet). Layer the seasoned burger beef evenly over the top of the fries.
  6. Melt the Cheese: Cover generously with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Return to oven at 400°F (200°C) for 6–8 minutes until cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  7. Top & Serve: Remove from oven and drizzle generously with special burger sauce. Scatter chopped pickles, green onions, and sesame seeds over top. Serve warm right out of the pan!

Notes

  • Always drain the beef thoroughly to prevent soggy fries.
  • For the crispiest foundation, spread fries in a single layer without overcrowding.
  • Consider shredding your own cheese from blocks for superior melting.
