Description
Ultra rich and creamy Oreo cheesecake inspired by the famous Cheesecake Factory version, featuring a chocolate cookie crust, cookies and cream filling, and smooth chocolate ganache topping.

- 24 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies, roughly chopped
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream for ganache
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Mix crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with melted butter and press firmly into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.
- Bake crust for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool.
- In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add sour cream and heavy cream and mix gently until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing just until incorporated.
- Stir in vanilla extract and roughly chopped cookies.
- Pour filling over cooled crust and smooth the top.
- Wrap the bottom of the springform pan in foil and place in a roasting pan. Pour hot water around the pan halfway up the sides.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes until the center is slightly set but still slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and let cheesecake cool inside with the door slightly open for 1 hour.
- Remove and cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Heat heavy cream until hot and pour over semi sweet chocolate. Stir until smooth to create ganache.
- Spread ganache over chilled cheesecake and allow to set before slicing.
Notes
- Use room temperature cream cheese for the smoothest texture.
- Do not overmix after adding eggs to avoid cracks.
- The water bath helps create a creamy texture and prevents cracking.
- Chill overnight for the best flavor and clean slices.
