- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), vanilla, and salt until sugar dissolves.
- Add apple slices and pour in water. Stir to coat apples evenly.
- Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender.
- Uncover and simmer for 2–3 more minutes to thicken the sauce slightly.
- Serve warm as-is or over your favorite dishes.
