Description

Soft, pastel-pink mints with a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a refreshing peppermint finish, perfect for Valentine’s gifting or a sweet little bite after dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 to 4 drops red or pink food coloring

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese and butter: In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Add sugar and flavor: Gradually mix in the sifted powdered sugar and peppermint extract until a soft, pliable dough forms.
  3. Tint the dough: Knead in 2 to 4 drops of food coloring until the color is evenly distributed.
  4. Prepare for shaping: Lightly dust silicone molds or a clean cutting board with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  5. Shape the mints: Press small portions into heart-shaped molds, or roll into thin ropes and cut into bite-size squares.
  6. Dry to set: Arrange on a parchment-lined tray and air-dry at room temperature for 4 to 6 hours, or until firm to the touch.
  7. Store and serve: Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until serving.

Notes

  • Note: If the dough feels sticky, knead in 1 to 2 tablespoons additional powdered sugar until just pliable.
  • Chill the dough for 10 minutes if it becomes too soft while shaping.
  • For multicolored assortments, divide the dough and tint each portion a different shade of pink or red.
  • Dust molds lightly with powdered sugar for easy release.
