Description

These sunny-side-up eggs are the easiest and most satisfying way to start your day. With golden, runny yolks and just-set whites, they’re quick to make, incredibly versatile, and perfect for any breakfast plate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Butter or Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick or cast iron skillet over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the butter or oil and let it melt, coating the bottom of the pan evenly.
  3. Crack the eggs into a small bowl, then gently slide them into the skillet.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper once the whites begin to set.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the whites are fully set and yolks remain runny.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 10 seconds.
  7. Carefully slide the eggs onto a plate and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for better structure and flavor.
  • A tight-fitting lid helps steam the tops without flipping.
  • Cook low and slow to avoid rubbery whites and overdone yolks.
  • Season after the whites begin to set to avoid spreading too far.
