Description

Soft, golden donuts filled with creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries, finished with a dusting of powdered sugar or a sweet strawberry glaze.

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (diced)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes, then add eggs, butter, and flour. Knead until smooth.
  3. Roll dough into balls and place on a baking sheet to rise for about 30 minutes.
  4. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and diced strawberries until creamy. Transfer to a piping bag.
  5. Fry donuts in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and cool slightly.
  6. Insert piping nozzle into each donut and fill generously with cheesecake mixture.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with strawberry glaze, then serve warm.
