  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar (for sauce)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease two ramekins.
  2. Pour boiling water over the chopped dates and let them soften.
  3. Mix softened butter and brown sugar, then add the egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the softened dates with their liquid into the batter.
  5. Divide batter between the two ramekins and place them on a baking tray.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the tops are set and soft.
  7. Make the toffee sauce by melting butter, brown sugar, and cream until smooth.
  8. Spoon warm sauce over the freshly baked puddings and serve warm.
