Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes (about 900 grams)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (80 milliliters)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry and toss with salt and black pepper.
- Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the wings cook, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Toss the hot wings in the sticky soy glaze until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately while warm and sticky.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crisp skin.
- Toss wings in the sauce just before serving to maintain crispness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes to restore crispness.
