Description
Comforting spaghetti served inside warm, buttery garlic bread bowls, topped with gooey mozzarella and a sprinkle of parmesan and parsley. A cozy, shareable meal that combines two favorites into one delicious bite.
Ingredients
- Round Bread Loaves: 4 small loaves, hollowed out to form bowls
- Spaghetti: 12 ounces, cooked until just al dente
- Marinara Sauce: 3 cups, rich and tangy
- Mozzarella Cheese: 2 cups shredded
- Parmesan Cheese: 1/2 cup grated
- Butter: 6 tablespoons melted
- Garlic: 4 cloves minced
- Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Parsley: 2 tablespoons chopped
- Salt and Black Pepper: To taste
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, toss the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce, 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella, 1/4 cup grated parmesan, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix until the pasta is evenly coated.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Slice the tops off each bread loaf and hollow out the centers, leaving at least a 1/2-inch wall so the bowls keep their shape. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the garlic butter generously inside and outside each hollowed loaf.
- Assemble the Dish: Spoon the spaghetti mixture into each prepared bread bowl, packing gently but leaving a little room at the top. Top each bowl with the remaining shredded mozzarella and the remaining grated parmesan.
- Cook to Perfection: Place the filled bread bowls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly and the bread is crisp on the outside.
- Finishing Touches: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the bowls with chopped fresh parsley. Let the bowls rest for 2 to 3 minutes so the sauce settles.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the spaghetti garlic bread bowls warm on individual plates or wooden boards. Dig in with forks and enjoy the edible bowl along with the pasta.
Notes
- Tip: Slightly undercook the spaghetti so it finishes perfectly in the oven.
- Tip: Do not hollow out too much bread to prevent collapse of the bowls.
- Tip: Brush the inside of the bread bowls well with garlic butter to create a barrier that helps prevent sogginess.
- Storage: Store pasta separately from bread in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 days, then reheat and assemble before baking to retain crispness.
