This Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole is a creamy, comforting classic made easier with the help of your crockpot. Tender green beans, savory mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions make it a must-have for holidays or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds green beans, trimmed (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 and 1/2 cups crispy fried onions
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the slow cooker or use a liner.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, pepper, and 1/3 of the fried onions.
  3. Add green beans to the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 2.5–3 hours, until beans are tender.
  5. Sprinkle remaining fried onions on top, cover, and let sit for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen or fresh green beans for better texture.
  • Add shredded cheese for a cheesy variation.
  • Stir once halfway through for even cooking.
