Ingredients
Scale
- 225 grams halloumi cheese, sliced into 1 centimeter thick pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Place a non stick skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm.
- Pat the sliced halloumi dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Add olive oil to the warm skillet and swirl to coat evenly.
- Arrange halloumi slices in a single layer in the pan without overlapping.
- Fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until a deep golden crust forms.
- Remove from heat and drizzle immediately with fresh lemon juice.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and black pepper if using, then serve hot.
Notes
- Do not add salt, halloumi is naturally salty.
- Use medium heat to prevent burning while achieving a golden crust.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
- Leftovers can be reheated gently in a pan to restore some crispness.
