Description

Crisp snow peas tossed in a savory sesame-soy glaze, finished with toasted sesame seeds for a fast and flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces snow peas, trimmed
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Add olive oil to the hot pan and sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add snow peas and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Pour in the sauce mixture and toss to coat. Cook for another minute.
  6. Remove from heat, drizzle with the remaining sesame oil, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and glossy.

Notes

  • Dry the snow peas thoroughly before cooking to maintain their crisp texture.
  • Toasting sesame seeds enhances their nutty flavor — don’t skip this step.
  • Add chili flakes or ginger for extra heat or zing.
