Description

A classic homemade pepperoni pizza with golden crust, bubbling mozzarella, and savory pepperoni slices baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24 pepperoni slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F and heat baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
  2. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes. Add flour, olive oil, and salt. Knead 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Roll dough into a 12 inch circle. Spread tomato sauce, sprinkle oregano and garlic powder, add mozzarella, and arrange pepperoni slices.
  5. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  6. Rest 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded mozzarella for better melting.
  • Do not overload with sauce to prevent sogginess.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven for best texture.
