Description

Creamy homemade peppermint patties coated in rich dark chocolate with a smooth, cool mint center. A simple no-bake treat perfect for holidays, gifting, or a refreshing after-dinner sweet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract, and softened butter. Mix until a thick, smooth dough forms.
  3. Lightly dust your hands with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  4. Roll the filling into small balls, then flatten each into discs about 1/4 inch thick. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Refrigerate the discs for 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Melt dark chocolate chips gently in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring frequently until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled disc into the melted chocolate, coating completely. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing back on the parchment paper.
  8. Let the chocolate set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

  • Sift powdered sugar before mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Adjust peppermint extract slightly for stronger or milder mint flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months and thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
