- 3 1/2 cups (440 g) all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) warm water at 43°C
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C and lightly grease a baking sheet or loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in olive oil, salt, rosemary, thyme, and parsley.
- Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a lightly floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape into a loaf and place on baking sheet or in loaf pan. Cover and let rise 45 to 60 minutes until doubled.
- Slash the top lightly and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Cool on a rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use water at the correct temperature to properly activate yeast.
- Allow full rising time for better texture and flavor.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
