Description

Soft, fluffy milk bread buns with a tender crumb and lightly sweet flavor, perfect for everyday meals or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Warm a portion of the milk with a small amount of flour in a saucepan until thickened, then let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked milk mixture with remaining milk, sugar, yeast, egg, and flour until a dough forms.
  3. Add butter and salt, then knead until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place until puffy.
  5. Divide dough into equal portions, shape into buns, and place in a greased baking pan.
  6. Let buns rise again until touching.
  7. Bake at 350°F until golden brown.
  8. Brush warm buns with melted butter and serve.

Notes

  • Do not overheat the milk or the yeast may not activate.
  • Allow full rising time for the softest texture.
  • Buns can be frozen after baking and reheated gently.
