- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease your casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Form into small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then brown meatballs on all sides until golden.
- Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with butter and warm milk until creamy.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly into the casserole dish, then nestle browned meatballs into the mash.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan on top. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Warm milk before adding to mashed potatoes for extra fluffiness.
- Chill meatball mixture before rolling to help them hold shape.
- Add paprika or chili flakes for a little kick.
