- 3 green tea bags
- 2 inches fresh ginger root, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cups filtered water
- Ice cubes, as needed
- Lemon slices, for garnish
- Fresh mint sprigs, optional
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
- Add the sliced ginger and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse.
- Remove the pan from heat, add 3 green tea bags, and steep for 3 minutes.
- Discard the tea bags and strain out the ginger. Stir in 3 tablespoons honey until fully dissolved.
- Let the tea cool slightly, then pour into a pitcher.
- Stir in 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, then chill with plenty of ice.
- Serve over ice, garnish with lemon slices and optional mint, then enjoy.
Notes
- Taste and adjust: Add more honey for sweetness or more lemon for brightness.
- Stronger ginger flavor: Simmer the ginger for up to 8 minutes.
- Less dilution: Chill the pitcher in the fridge before serving and use tea ice cubes.
- Sparkling twist: Top off glasses with a splash of club soda just before serving.
