Description

A warm and satisfying grilled cheese sandwich made with crispy sourdough bread, melty cheddar and mozzarella, and savory leftover lamb that turns simple ingredients into pure comfort.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 3 ounces cooked leftover lamb, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 slice mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat until evenly warm.
  2. Spread Dijon mustard on the inside of one slice of bread.
  3. Butter the outer sides of both bread slices evenly.
  4. Place cheddar cheese on the mustard side, add the lamb evenly, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  5. Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  6. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bottom is golden brown.
  7. Flip carefully, cover briefly, and cook until the second side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  8. Remove from heat, let rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.

  • Cook over medium heat to prevent burning while the cheese melts.
  • Covering the pan helps the cheese melt evenly.
  • Let the sandwich rest for one minute before slicing for clean layers.
