- 10–12 fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 loaf baguette or Italian bread, sliced

- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: Balsamic glaze for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F or heat grill pan over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
- Place bread slices on a baking sheet or grill pan and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Toast bread slices until golden and crisp, about 5–7 minutes.
- While still hot, rub one side of each toast with a garlic clove.
- Spoon tomato mixture onto each toasted slice.
- Drizzle with remaining olive oil and optional balsamic glaze before serving.
