Description
Juicy, spicy chicken patties kissed with red chili and garlic, nestled in toasted buns with crisp lettuce, tomato, and a creamy spicy mayo. A quick, crowd-pleasing burger that balances heat, texture, and freshness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 fresh red chili, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 tablespoons spicy mayo (or to taste)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound ground chicken, 1 teaspoon red chili flakes, 1 finely chopped fresh red chili, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 sliced green onions, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 large egg, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Mix gently until just combined, do not overwork.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, slightly thicker in the center to promote even cooking. Chill patties in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to firm up.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons olive oil to coat the surface.
- Place the patties on the hot pan and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- While patties cook, lightly toast 4 burger buns. Spread about 1 tablespoon spicy mayo on each bun base.
- Assemble each burger by layering a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice on the mayo-spread bun base, add the hot chicken patty, then crown with the bun top.
- Serve immediately with your preferred sides, enjoy while hot.
Notes
- Chill patties before cooking to help them hold their shape.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For a lighter sauce, substitute spicy mayo with Greek yogurt mixed with chili sauce.
- To make gluten-free, replace breadcrumbs with almond meal or crushed oats.
