Instructions
- Set a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Sauté the onion, celery, carrots, and garlic until fragrant and tender.
- Stir in flour to create a roux, then gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until smooth.
- Add shredded chicken, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, and milk to make a soft dumpling dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Gently stir, check for doneness, and sprinkle fresh parsley before serving.
