Ingredients

- 4 cups (480 grams) bread flour
- 2 tablespoons (25 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups (360 milliliters) warm water
- 1 cup (150 grams) fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar for boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix bread flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Add warm water and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth. Gently fold in blueberries.
- Place dough in a lightly greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Divide dough into 8 pieces, shape into balls, and form rings by poking a hole in the center and stretching gently.
- Boil each bagel for 1 minute per side. Transfer to baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use frozen blueberries straight from the freezer if needed.
- Do not skip boiling for the best chewy texture.
- Bagels freeze well when sliced and stored airtight.
