Description

Smoky grilled avocados brushed with olive oil and finished with lime juice, chili flakes, and fresh herbs, creating a simple yet flavorful dish perfect as a side or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe avocados, halved and pitted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes, optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium heat, about 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the avocado halves with the seasoned oil mixture.
  4. Place the avocados cut side down on the grill.
  5. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes until distinct grill marks appear and the avocados are slightly softened.
  6. Remove from the grill and drizzle with fresh lime juice.
  7. Sprinkle with red chili flakes and chopped cilantro if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use firm, ripe avocados to prevent them from becoming too soft during grilling.
  • Clean and oil the grill grates before cooking to avoid sticking.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
