Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 oz goat cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Optional: 1 tsp lemon zest or chili flakes
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional garnish: extra thyme or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add warm water and olive oil. Stir and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  2. Place dough in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled.
  3. Mix goat cheese, thyme, garlic, and optional ingredients in a small bowl.
  4. Roll risen dough into a rectangle (approx. 10×16 in). Spread cheese mixture evenly.
  5. Roll into a log, slice lengthwise, and twist halves together. Form into a wreath on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Let rise again for 20–30 minutes while oven preheats to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with herbs or seeds, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

  • Dry your hands and surface when shaping the dough to avoid sticking.
