Description

This easy shrimp scampi recipe brings together juicy shrimp, garlic butter, lemon, and linguine pasta for a bright, flavorful dinner in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces linguine pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook linguine until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Toss shrimp to coat.
  5. Add cooked linguine to the skillet. Toss everything together until pasta is well coated.
  6. Stir in fresh parsley and adjust seasoning to taste.
  7. Serve hot with extra parsley or parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use raw shrimp for best texture, not precooked.
  • Reserve a little pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
  • Add lemon zest for extra brightness.
