Ingredients

  • 18 to 20 frozen dumplings
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups napa cabbage, chopped
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set a large soup pot over medium heat and warm it up.
  2. Drizzle in a splash of oil and sauté garlic and ginger for 1 minute until fragrant. Add carrots and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add frozen dumplings and stir gently to avoid sticking.
  5. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until dumplings float and are cooked through. Add napa cabbage in the last 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Let the soup rest for 5 minutes. Ladle into bowls and top with green onions before serving.
