Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mix until smooth.
- Whisk flour and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoon sized portions, roll into balls, place on baking sheet, and flatten gently with a fork.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
Notes
- Chill dough for 15 to 20 minutes if kitchen is warm.
- Do not overbake to keep centers tender.
