Description

Soft, buttery Arab-style biscuits that melt in your mouth and are lightly coated with powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Cornstarch – 1 cup
  • Butter or ghee – 1 cup
  • Vegetable oil – 1/4 cup
  • Powdered sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Extra powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C and line a baking tray.
  2. Mix butter, oil, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Sift flour, cornstarch, and baking powder together.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
  5. Shape into small balls and place on the tray.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes until set but pale.
  7. Cool slightly and coat with powdered sugar before serving.
