- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate spread or melted chocolate
- Vegetable oil for frying or brushing
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes to activate.
- Add flour, melted butter, egg, and salt then knead until the dough becomes soft and smooth.
- Let the dough rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the chocolate evenly.
- Roll the dough into a log shape and slice into equal sized rolls.
- If baking, place rolls in a greased dish and bake at 350°F for 18 to 20 minutes. If frying, heat oil to medium and fry until golden.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
- Keep dough slightly sticky for a fluffier result.
- Rest rolls before cooking for a better rise.
- Do not overfill with chocolate to avoid leaking.
