- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 4 cups milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
- Extra strawberries and cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly grease the inside of the crock pot to prevent sticking.
- Add the steel-cut oats, milk, strawberries, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt to the crock pot. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until oats are tender and creamy.
- Stir in the heavy cream just before serving.
- Spoon into bowls and top with extra strawberries and cream if desired.
Notes
- Use steel-cut oats, not quick oats, for the best texture in slow cooking.
- You can prepare this overnight on the low setting for an easy breakfast in the morning.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey or syrup to taste.
