Description

Creamy Instant Pot Grits are a quick, comforting Southern classic made easier with modern convenience. Silky smooth, buttery, and full of rich flavor, they’re perfect for breakfast or dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup stone-ground grits
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Plug in and prepare your Instant Pot.
  2. Add grits, water, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir gently.
  3. Secure lid, set valve to sealing, and select ‘Porridge’ or cook on Manual/High for 10 minutes.
  4. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick release remaining pressure.
  5. Open lid and stir well. Add butter, cream, and cheese if using. Mix until creamy.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste. Add extra milk or butter if needed.
  7. Serve warm with toppings of your choice.
