- 450 grams ziti pasta
- 2 cups full fat cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
- In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, egg, half of the Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until combined.
- Boil salted water and cook ziti 1 to 2 minutes less than package directions. Drain well.
- Mix cooked pasta with marinara sauce and minced garlic. Spread half into baking dish. Add cottage cheese mixture evenly. Top with remaining pasta. Sprinkle mozzarella and remaining Parmesan on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- Rest for 10 minutes, sprinkle with fresh parsley, then serve warm.
Notes
- Undercook pasta slightly so it finishes cooking in the oven.
- Let the dish rest before slicing for cleaner portions.
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and flavor.
