Crispy golden fries loaded with creamy, spiced chicken tikka masala sauce and finished with fresh cilantro. A bold, comforting fusion dish that is perfect for sharing, game nights, or an indulgent dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 800 grams frozen French fries
  • 500 grams boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 120 grams plain yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 400 grams tomato puree
  • 120 milliliters heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, paprika, and half of the salt. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Bake the frozen French fries according to package instructions until deeply golden and crisp.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 8 to 10 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Add tomato puree to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and remaining salt. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Arrange the hot crispy fries on a serving plate. Spoon the chicken tikka masala sauce generously over the fries.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Bake fries slightly longer for extra crisp texture before adding sauce.
  • Do not assemble until ready to serve to prevent soggy fries.
  • The sauce can be prepared one day in advance and reheated gently.
  • For a dairy free option, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk.
