Description

Tender chicken fillets simmered in a rich and silky cream sauce with garlic and herbs, creating a comforting and elegant meal perfect for weeknights or special dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken fillets (about 600 grams)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat for a few minutes.
  2. Season the chicken fillets evenly on both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add olive oil and butter to the skillet. Once hot, place the chicken in the pan.
  4. Sear the chicken for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown, then remove and set aside. In the same pan, sauté the onion for 3 minutes, add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Pour in the chicken broth and simmer for 3 minutes, then stir in heavy cream and dried thyme.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top.
  7. Serve warm with the creamy sauce spooned generously over the chicken.

Notes

  • Simmer the sauce uncovered to help it thicken properly.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of warm broth.
  • Use freshly ground pepper for brighter flavor.
