Description
Warm, melty, and irresistibly golden breakfast sliders layered with fluffy eggs, savory sausage, and sharp cheddar on soft Hawaiian rolls, brushed with a buttery herb topping for a crowd-pleasing brunch favorite.
Ingredients
- Hawaiian rolls, 12 rolls
- Large eggs, 6
- Whole milk, 2 tablespoons
- Breakfast sausage patties, 12 small patties
- Cheddar cheese, 1 1/2 cups shredded
- Unsalted butter, 3 tablespoons melted
- Garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried parsley, 1 teaspoon
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Neutral oil or nonstick spray, for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with neutral oil or nonstick spray.
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, a pinch of salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties until browned and cooked through, then set aside. In the same skillet, add the egg mixture and gently scramble until just set and still soft.
- Assemble the Dish: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally as a slab, keeping individual rolls attached. Place the bottom slab in the baking dish. Layer on the sausage patties, spread the soft scrambled eggs evenly, and sprinkle the shredded cheddar. Cap with the top slab of rolls.
- Cook to Perfection: Stir the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush the mixture over the tops of the rolls. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 8 to 10 minutes more, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Finishing Touches: Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes to set. Run a sharp knife between rolls to separate.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm and melty straight from the dish or transfer to a board for sharing.
Notes
- Make-ahead: Assemble fully, cover, and refrigerate up to 12 hours. Bake as directed, adding 3 to 5 minutes if baking from cold.
- Eggs: Pull them off the heat slightly underdone since they finish in the oven.
- Topping: For extra flavor, add 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan to the butter mixture.
- Halal-friendly: Use certified halal sausage and cheese to align with dietary needs.
- Cleanup tip: Line the baking dish with parchment for easy lift-out and slicing.
