Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 8 slices bacon, halved
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Blanch green beans in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath. Drain and dry thoroughly.
  3. Toss green beans with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Wrap 5–6 green beans in a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Place the bundles seam-side down on the baking sheet or on a wire rack over the sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with brown sugar if using, then bake for 15–20 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and golden.
  7. Let rest for a couple of minutes before removing toothpicks. Serve warm.
