Crispy, golden bacon wrapped around tender green beans for a smoky, savory side dish that’s easy to make and always a hit.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed
- 8 slices bacon, halved
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath. Drain and dry thoroughly.
- Toss green beans with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Wrap 5–6 green beans in a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Place the bundles seam-side down on the baking sheet or on a wire rack over the sheet.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar if using, then bake for 15–20 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and golden.
- Let rest for a couple of minutes before removing toothpicks. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use thin-cut bacon for quicker, crispier results.
- Let the bacon come to room temperature for easier wrapping.
- Blanching the beans helps them stay tender and bright.
- Use kitchen twine instead of toothpicks for a rustic presentation.
