Description

A warm and comforting street style Aloo Bun Kabab made with crispy potato patties, soft toasted buns, and vibrant chutneys for a delicious and nostalgic bite.


Ingredients

  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons mint chutney
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney

Instructions

  1. Boil and mash the potatoes until smooth, then add chilies, coriander, spices, salt, and breadcrumbs.
  2. Mix everything until well combined and shape into patties.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Shallow fry the patties on both sides until golden and crisp.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in the same pan.
  6. Spread mint chutney and tamarind chutney on the buns.
  7. Add the potato patty, then top with onions and tomato slices.
  8. Close the bun, press gently, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use day old potatoes for firmer patties that hold shape.
  • Sprinkle extra chaat masala on top for added flavor.
  • Adjust chilies depending on your spice preference.
