Description

A creamy and comforting baked rice dish layered with four cheeses, baked until golden and melty, perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Cooked white rice – 3 cups
  • Whole milk – 1 1/2 cups
  • Mozzarella cheese, grated – 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese, grated – 1 cup
  • Parmesan cheese, grated – 1/2 cup
  • Cream cheese, softened – 4 oz
  • Butter, melted – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and lightly grease an oven safe baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, whole milk, melted butter, softened cream cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Spread half of the rice mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheeses over the rice layer.
  5. Add the remaining rice mixture on top and finish with the remaining cheeses.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For best melting, grate cheese fresh instead of using pre shredded cheese.
  • Letting the dish rest helps it set and makes serving easier.
  • Add a splash of milk when reheating leftovers to keep it creamy.
